Easy ways to suppress eating triggers
For every reaction to occur there is always a trigger which starts it off. The same principle applies to overeating also. These are called eating triggers which makes us eat more than is necessary resulting in problems like obesity and other weight related problems. Eating triggers can be anything or any situation which makes us eat more. The most common eating trigger is emotion. Most people suffering from obesity have a history of emotional instability or depression. Other eating triggers are social, situational and psychological triggers. Sometimes negative thoughts also become eating triggers.
There is no need to panic if you are suffering from obesity. All you need to do is to identify what eating triggers attack you often. Then take comfort that there are various ways other than eating by which you can overcome these triggers. It is not a big task to remind yourself of the other options. You can read a nice book or listen to some good music. You can also play cards, enjoy a bubble bath, do some deep breathing exercises (it is very relaxing), do housework or chat with a friend till you feel the desire to eat has gone. If you are unsuccessful in overcoming these eating triggers, then you can go in for counseling or meditation. But on the whole it is very easy to overcome these eating triggers if you are determined enough.
